Rental
Terms:
The following terms
do not affect your statutory rights.
DEFINITIONS: As the person or company renting / hiring the car
transporter, you are referred to as the hirer. The vehicle being hired is
referred to as the transporter. As the owners of the transporter, we are
referred to as Sterling. This is intended to mean a car transporter but may
also mean a trailer that is being hired.
DOCUMENTATION: Fully comprehensive insurance must be arranged by
the hirer for the specific transporter being hired and a certificate or cover
note produced by the hirer along with a driving licence (both parts for the new
style licence) and credit card prior to the hire period.
PAYMENT: The sum of £300.00 will be debited from the
hirers credit / debit card on commencement of the hire. On completion of the
hire, any amount not payable will be refunded to the card. Should the hire
period go over three days, Sterling will debit a further £100.00 per day
in advance for the expected hire period. The transporter will be hired with a
full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. A 20%
surcharge will be levied against any fuel required to refill the tank. If the
hirer enters the central London congestion zone with a Sterling transporter,
the hirer must pay the congestion charge for that transporter. Whilst it is the
hirers responsibility to ensure that the charge is paid, Sterling can make the
payment on the hirers behalf if requested in advance. The £5.00 fee will
be added to the hirers account along with a £1.00 admin fee.
DAMAGE: At the start of the hire period, a condition
report will be filled out by Sterling for the vehicle hired and agreed by the
hirer. Upon completion of the hire, the vehicle will be checked against the
original condition report. If damage has been caused to the transporter (ie
damage is found that is not noted on the original condition report), Sterling
reserve the right to debit the card with an amount equal to a professional
estimate for repairs until such a time as the repairs have been carried out and
paid for or any dispute has been resolved. All damage must be paid for by the
hirer who has the right to commission independent repair estimates. The choice
of repairer ultimately rests with Sterling. Any dispute that cannot be resolved
may be arbitrated by the VBRA. Tyre punctures and windsreen damage are the
responsibility of the hirer and the damaged item must be replaced with new
prior to completion of the hire unless Sterling agrees that a repair is
acceptable.
